Double Cheeseburger

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 800 g minced beef
  • 6 burger buns
  • 2 tomatoes, sliced
  • some pickles (sandwich pickles)
  • 6 leaves of iceberg lettuce
  • 1 onion(s), cut into fine rings
  • 12 slices of Gouda
  • some remoulade, mayonnaise or tartar sauce

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Place the minced meat in a bowl and season lightly with salt and pepper. Knead firmly until the seasonings are well incorporated. Roll out the meat dough with a rolling pin until it is only about 1 cm thick. Then, using a baking dish (glass or an upturned bowl), cut out circles to create 12 nice, round patties. Grill the patties, 2 per burger, on a raclette grill or a folding contact grill until almost no juices run out. Then top each patty with a slice of Gouda and continue grilling until the cheese has melted. Meanwhile, place the halved buns on the grill until they are lightly browned on the cut surface. Remove the bottoms of the buns first and top each with a lettuce leaf and drizzle with some of the sauce. Place two buns on top with cheese, then the tomato, cucumber, onion rings, and finally the bun lid.
