Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 800 g apples (peeled and chopped)
  • 75 g almonds, sliced (toast in a pan)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • 75 g raisins (soaked in rum or apple juice the day before)
  • 500 g gelling sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

First, soak the raisins in rum overnight. (Apple juice will work in a pinch, but not really!) The next day, prepare the apples and mix them with the roasted almonds, cinnamon, lemon juice, and raisins with the preserving sugar. Bring the mixture to a boil while stirring. Once it bubbles, let it simmer for about 4-5 minutes. Test for settling and, if it’s OK, pour into jars as usual.
