Mulled wine jelly

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 700 ml red wine
  • 300 ml orange juice
  • mulled wine spice
  • 1 kg gelling sugar (1:1)

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 10 minutes

Heat red wine with any amount of mulled wine spice – in tea bags or loose in paper tea strainers – until warm (do not boil!) and let it steep. I turn off the heat after 5 minutes and let the pot stand until the mixture cools down. Remove the spices, add the orange juice and sugar. Bring to a boil while stirring, and simmer gently for 3-4 minutes. Don’t forget to test for settling and pour into jars while still hot. Depending on the size, you’ll get about 5 jars.
