Baked Apple Jam

The perfect baked apple jam recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 1 kg Apples (Elstar)
  • 250 ml Red wine, dry
  • 500 g Preserving sugar 2: 1
  • 1 tbsp Cinnamon
  • 3 tbsp Rum
  • 50 g Raisins
  • 30 g Chopped almonds
  • 3 drops Bitter almond oil
  • 1 fingernail-sized piece Ginger, finely grated
  • 1 fingernail-sized piece Vanilla pod
  • 1 fingernail-sized piece Lemon
  1. Put raisins in rum – ideally the evening before.
  2. Peel the apples, cut them into small pieces and put them in a large saucepan.
  3. Add red wine and a. Simmer for 10-15 minutes, until the apples slowly soften and crumble. Stir again and again.
  4. Puree the fruits with the help of a hand blender depending on the desired consistency.
  5. Mix the gelling sugar with the lemon juice and cinnamon.
  6. Add together with the raisins, vanilla pulp, ginger and chopped almonds and let simmer for 3-4 minutes.
  7. After a successful setting test, pour the baked apple jam into the prepared jars. This makes approx. 6 jars
  8. Immediately close and place on the lid for about 5 minutes, this will make it durable.
