Stock: Apple and Carrot Jam

The perfect stock: apple and carrot jam recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 300 g Carrots
  • 700 g Apple
  • 1 piece Fresh ginger and walnut-sized
  • 1000 g Preserving sugar 1: 1
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  1. Peel the ginger, carrots and apples, core the apples and cut everything into large cubes.
  2. Mix the ginger, apples, carrots and sugar in a tall, large saucepan and let this mixture stand for at least an hour (for me it was three hours).
  3. Finely puree everything with the magic wand and then bring to a boil. Cook for four minutes with constant stirring – be careful, the stuff splatters like stupid – bubbly.
  4. After the cooking time, stir in the cinnamon and pour the mixture into hot-rinsed screw-top jars and leave to cool while standing on the lid.
