Working time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

super delicious and simple dessert

Peel the apples and core them with a corer, then halve them and place them on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Sprinkle with 3 tablespoons of sugar, place the almonds in the center hole and on top of the apple, and place a small knob of butter on each apple. Bake in a preheated oven at approx. 200°C for 20 minutes (convection oven: approx. 170°C). In the meantime, prepare the chocolate sauce: Cut the chocolate into pieces and melt it in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add the cream and 2 tablespoons of sugar and whisk. Stir in the egg yolk and mix to form a nice sauce (don’t worry: the sauce will brown nicely after stirring for about 3 minutes). Divide the baked apples among 4 plates and pour the sauce over the apples. Plum and cinnamon ice cream also goes very well with this, although it’s only available in winter.
