Apple casserole with almond topping

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 large apples, juicy
  • lemon juice
  • Rum or Calvados
  • 75 g butter
  • 125 g powdered sugar
  • 150 g almond(s), grated

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Peel the apples, cut them into eighths, and arrange them like roof tiles in a greased springform pan or casserole dish. Drizzle with lemon juice and rum or Calvados. Cream the butter until fluffy, add the sugar, and mix in the ground almonds thoroughly. Spread the almond mixture over the apples. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 15 minutes. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or ice-cold whipped cream.
