Baked apples with dominoes

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 apples
  • 2 packs of confectionery (dominoes)
  • Cinnamon powder
  • e.g. vanilla ice cream or vanilla sauce

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

with marzipan, without nuts!

Preheat the oven to 180°C. Wash the apples. Cut off the top of the first apple, about the thickness of a thumb, and set aside. Scoop out the core and scoop out 2/3 of the filling with a spoon. Crush 2-3 dominoes per apple with a fork, then fill the apple with the mixture. Sprinkle with cinnamon and place the top pieces slightly offset. Place the apple on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Repeat with the remaining apples. Bake the apples at 180°C for 25-30 minutes (on the second rack from the bottom) until the mixture begins to melt. Serve the apples while still hot with a dollop of vanilla ice cream or custard.
