Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

vegetarian, always nice for a child’s birthday

Mix the walnuts, apple compote, almond slivers, cinnamon, and cranberries to make a filling. Cut off the top quarter of the apple and hollow it out. Then roll the marzipan into 16 balls and fill the apples with the nut mixture. Place the marzipan ball in the middle. Cut two small holes in the top quarter of the apple, as this is where the sugar eyes will go later. Place the apples in a baking dish. Bake everything in a preheated oven at 175°C (top and bottom heat) for about 20 minutes on the middle rack. After baking, put some marzipan into the holes and stick the sugar eyes on top. Stick 4 whole almonds into the gap between the top and bottom halves (as teeth) with marzipan.
