Baked Calamari

The perfect baked calamari recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 1 kg Fresh calamaretti
  • 2 Eggs
  • 5 tbsp Flour
  • Breadcrumbs
  • Sunflower oil
  • Salt
  1. Clean the calamari and cut the tubes into rings
  1. Put them in boiling salted water and take them out again immediately, this will make the rings firm without being cooked through, making it easier to bread them
  1. Let the rings cool down and then turn them in flour and bread with the eggs and breadcrumbs
  1. Heat the sunflower oil, plenty of it, in a pan and fry the breaded squid rings in it until crispy brown
  1. Drain on a kitchen towel, season with salt and serve with salad and tartar sauce
