Baked cauliflower

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 cauliflower, or 750 g frozen cauliflower
  • 200 g ham or smoked meat
  • 3 m.-sized eggs
  • 250 ml milk
  • ½ cup cream
  • 50 g cheese (Gouda), medium-aged
  • salt and pepper
  • nutmeg

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Food combining

Wash the cauliflower, divide it into florets, and cook in boiling water for about 5 minutes. Drain. Dice the ham. Place the cauliflower and ham in a casserole dish. Combine the milk, cream, and beaten eggs and season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Pour over the cauliflower and ham and top with the cheese. Bake in the oven at 180–200°C (350–400°F) for about 20 minutes, until the mixture sets. If the surface browns quickly, cover with aluminum foil. Serve with a green salad or tomato salad.
