Grandma’s original recipe!

Trim the leek and cut into 8 pieces, each about 15 cm long. Briefly steam in salted water (about 5-10 minutes) and drain well. Wrap a slice of ham around each leek and place in a lightly greased baking dish. Lightly toast the margarine and bacon in a saucepan, stir in the flour and deglaze with the liquid, then season. Stir in the cheese and chives until the cheese has melted. Pour the sauce over the leeks and bake at about 200°C for about 20 minutes.
