Baked Maultaschen with roasted onions

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 6 Maultasche(n), finished
  • 500 ml broth
  • 2 onions
  • 75 g mountain cheese
  • 1 tbsp, heaped butter
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 pinch(s) of sugar
  • Salt and pepper from the mill

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Quick to make and very tasty

Coarsely grate the cheese. Bring the broth to a boil and simmer the Maultaschen in the broth over low heat for about 10 minutes until cooked through. Preheat the oven to 200°C (fan). Place the cooked Maultaschen into two baking dishes and top with the cheese. Add a few spoonfuls of broth to the dishes to prevent the Maultaschen from drying out. Bake for about 15 minutes, until the cheese has melted and is lightly browned. In the meantime, peel, quarter, and slice the onions. Heat oil and butter and fry the onions until golden brown. Season with sugar, a little salt, and pepper. Sprinkle the onions over the baked Maultaschen. Serve with a fresh salad.
