Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 650 g minced meat, mixed
  • 1 small onion(s)
  • 2 tbsp breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp paprika powder
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 ½ tsp salt
  • 500 ml cream
  • 200 ml water
  • 1 tbsp oil for frying
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 2 tbsp paprika cream or paprika paste
  • 2 vegetable stock cubes
  • 300 g cheese, grated

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 50 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 15 minutes

Grate the onion or chop it as finely as possible. Then mix it with the minced meat, the spices, and the breadcrumbs. Form the resulting mixture into small meatballs. Arrange the finished meatballs in a baking dish and cook in a preheated oven at 230°C (top/bottom heat) (200°C fan-assisted) for 20-30 minutes, until the meat is cooked through. About 5 minutes before the end of the baking time, add a little oil to a pan and brown the tomato paste and paprika cream. Add the cream, water, and stock cubes, and bring the sauce to a boil briefly. Spread the sauce over the meatballs and cover with the grated cheese. Return the whole thing to the oven for another 20 minutes at the specified temperature. Serve with fries or rice. Note: The paprika cream is usually found in international delicatessens.
