Baked Mozzarella Tomatoes; Side Dish or Starter

The perfect baked mozzarella tomatoes; side dish or starter recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 4 Pc. Beefsteak tomatoes
  • 2 Bullets Mozzarella
  • 1 bunch Basil
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • Salt pepper
  1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees. Wash the tomatoes and cut them into slices with the knife so that they are still connected on the underside, i.e. do not cut all the way through.
  2. Cut the mozzarella into slices and press a slice of mozzarella with a leaf of basil between the tomato slices. Then gently squeeze the tomatoes so they don’t fall apart.
  3. Carefully place the filled tomatoes on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and drizzle with olive oil. Season with salt and pepper and bake in a hot oven for about 10 minutes until golden brown.
