Baked red onion toast

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 2 slices of whole-grain toast
  • 30 g cream cheese with garlic
  • Salt
  • Paprika powder
  • Oregano, dried
  • 1 onion(s), red
  • 30 g Emmental cheese, coarsely grated

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Breakfast, dinner or snack

Toast the bread slices and place them on a baking rack lined with parchment paper. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees fan/convection oven. In a bowl, season the cream cheese with salt, paprika, and oregano and mix well. Spread both slices of bread with the cheese mixture. Peel the red onion, slice it into thin rings, and scatter it over the cheese mixture. Use any leftover rings for decoration later. Coarsely grate the Emmental cheese over the onions and bake the bread slices in the oven for about 20 minutes, until the cheese has melted. Arrange the bread slices on a platter, garnish, and serve.
