Baked sheep's cheese in Mediterranean style

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 2 packs of sheep’s cheese or goat’s cheese
  • 2 tomatoes, aromatic
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 10 leaves of fresh basil
  • 1 chili pepper(s) or chili powder
  • some oregano, dried
  • some salt and pepper
  • e.g. olive oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Place the feta cheese in a baking dish and sprinkle with oregano. Sprinkle some chili powder (if not using fresh) over the feta cheese. Finely dice the tomatoes. Crush the garlic and finely chop the chili pepper (if not using powder), removing the seeds first, and mix everything with the tomatoes and a little olive oil. Season with salt and pepper, and drizzle the garlic, tomato, oil, and chili mixture over the feta cheese slices. Tear the basil leaves into small pieces and scatter them over the blocks. Bake at 180°C for about 5-10 minutes. Serve with ciabatta and/or arugula salad with a sweet dressing.
