Baked spaetzle – gyro – casserole

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 1 kg meat (gyros), ready seasoned or seasoned yourself
  • 1 kg Spätzle, homemade or pre-cooked
  • 2 cups sour cream
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 300 g cheese, grated
  • Salt
  • chili powder
  • Paprika powder
  • Garlic

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Thinly slice the onion. Brown it with the gyro. Mix the spaetzle, sour cream, and gyro in a large bowl and season to taste. Transfer everything to a casserole dish and sprinkle with cheese. Bake in the oven at 175°C for about 20 minutes. A salad with bell peppers, olives, chili peppers, and cucumber goes well with this dish. It’s easy to prepare a day in advance (if you’re short on time).
