Baked sweet potato dough from the pan, vegan

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 250 g sweet potatoes
  • 200 g wheat flour
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • n. B. Sugar, depending on the sweetness of the potato used

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

A well-known Chinese dessert is pan-fried dough made from sweet potato and glutinous rice flour.

Peel the sweet potato, cut into small cubes, and steam for 15 minutes. Then let the vegetables cool, transfer them to a bowl, and mash them. Add the flour and sugar to the bowl, mix well, and knead well. Cut the dough into 7 pieces to form 7 flat patties. Heat the oil in a pan, add the 7 patties, and bake until golden brown. I steamed the sweet potato. You can also boil the sweet potato in water or bake it in the oven; steaming preserves the nutrients and flavor best. Steaming is an ancient Chinese cooking method that is still very popular in China. I added 2 teaspoons of sugar this time, but sugar is not necessary. Afterward, you can eat the patties with honey, applesauce, or jam.
