Baked tuna

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 300 g tuna
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 3 slices of bacon
  • 3 slices of cheese (Manchego cheese)
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • e.g. salt (Sal de Flor Lime)
  • n. B. Pepper, coarse

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

With fresh tuna

Wash the tomatoes, remove the stems, and slice them. Peel the garlic and slice it very thinly to ensure the garlic cooks through. Cut the tuna into thick slices. Brush an ovenproof dish with a little oil. Place some tomato slices in the dish and the garlic slices on top. Then add the tuna. Add more garlic, if you like, and then the bacon and some more tomato slices. Place in the oven, which has been set at 190 degrees Celsius. After 10 minutes, place the cheese slices on the tomatoes and leave in the oven for another 5 minutes. This will keep the tuna nice and pink. If you want it a little less pink, you’ll need to cook it for a longer time. The thickness of the slices also matters. This will keep the tuna nice and tender and not dry.
