Baking baguettes with vegan ingredients
You probably have the ingredients for a vegan baguette at home.
- Weigh out 500 g of flour.
- You will also need 250ml of lukewarm water.
- For the dough, you need a packet of dry yeast, a tablespoon each of sugar and salt, and three tablespoons of olive or rapeseed oil.
Vegan cuisine: How to make crispy baguettes
The preparation is quite simple:
- First, dissolve the dry yeast in the lukewarm water.
- In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, salt, and oil, and add the yeast water.
- Mix the ingredients with a dough hook into a smooth dough. Cover the bowl with a clean towel and set it in a warm place to allow it to rise.
- Then form a long loaf of bread from the dough on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Tip: Since the dough will be a little wet, sprinkle it with a little flour to shape it.
- Now the vegan baguette can be placed in the oven preheated to 180 degrees for 30 minutes.
- Tip: With additional ingredients, the vegan baguette becomes a Mediterranean delicacy: work chopped black olives, dried tomatoes, garlic, and finely chopped herbs such as thyme into the dough.
