Baking: Apple and Nut Cake
The perfect baking: apple and nut cake recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 250 g Grated apples
- 200 g Sugar
- 200 g Ground hazelnuts
- 50 g Fine oatmeal
- 5 piece Eggs separated
- 0,5 packet Baking powder
- 1 tablespoon Potato flour
- 0,5 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
- 1 pinch Salt
- Fat and crumbs for the mold
- Peel the apples, remove the core and any inhabitants and grate coarsely. Not the worms, the apples !!!!
- Separate the eggs and beat the egg whites into snow.
- Mix nuts, sugar, oat flakes, grated apples, egg yolks, cinnamon, baking powder, cornstarch and salt into a batter.
- Fold in the egg white with a whisk and pour the mixture into a greased and crumbled springform pan (26 cm).
- Bake in a preheated oven at 170 degrees for about an hour. Number pick test!
- After the cake has cooled completely, cover it with chocolate icing and decorate it as you wish. Here I used dried apple wedges and chocolate tubes.
- Note 7: The original recipe uses carrots instead of apples, but as I’m happy to be able to use every apple, this cake is a wonderfully juicy occasion.
