Baking Pretzels – How Does It Work Best?

To crisp pretzels, let them thaw on a parchment-lined oven rack for about 10 minutes after removing them from the freezer. Then cut the thickest part with a sharp knife and brush the surface with a little water. On the one hand, you get an attractive, shiny brown look, on the other hand, the outside becomes wonderfully crispy when you bake the frozen pretzels. Before that, add as much salt as you like. The coarse grains are best suited for this. In the meantime, you have of course already preheated the oven. It should be around 200 to 220 degrees with top and bottom heat if you bake frozen pretzels for around 15 minutes. When these are ready, you can serve the pretzels with our Bavarian breakfast.

Bake the pretzels from the day before

One likes to buy one or two pretzels too many. However, as a day goes by, the leftover pretzels become hard. its end? no way. Because you can also bake old pretzels – quite simply. To do this, brush them with water and then put them in the oven at 160 degrees for around eight minutes. You don’t need to preheat it for this. Just check the pretzels every now and then. If dark spots form, you should also remove them before the time is up. If you have a microwave, sprinkle pretzels with a little water to bake them, and then put them in for 10 to 15 seconds at the highest level. Whichever method you use, enjoy the pastry right after. Otherwise, the pretzels will become hard again.
