Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 225 g wheat flour
  • 225 g spelt flour
  • 350 ml buttermilk
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • Spice(s), of your choice
  • 1 handful of seeds, of your choice, optional
  • possibly tomato paste

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 15 minutes

without yeast

Mix all ingredients (except baking soda) with a dough hook until a smooth dough forms. Then add baking soda and spices and/or a handful of seeds of your choice (I tried it with sunflower seeds and 1 tablespoon of tomato paste). Sprinkle flour on a surface and knead the dough lightly again. Preheat a clay dish or ovenproof pot in the oven for 10 minutes. Then add a little flour to the hot dish and add the dough. Bake at 220°C with the lid closed for 30-40 minutes. Check after 30 minutes to see if the dough is firm.
