Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 2 kg mango(s), ripe
  • 1 kg banana(s)
  • 1 kg gelling sugar (3:1)
  • 1 pinch of cinnamon

surprisingly simple and exotic

Peel the mangos and cut them into chunks into a large saucepan. Peel the bananas and add them. Add the sugar and bring everything to a boil. Cook according to the instructions on the preserving sugar packet (usually about 3 minutes). Stir in the cinnamon, if desired. Rinse the screw-top jars and lids with hot water and place them on a clean kitchen towel; do not dry them. Immediately transfer the hot jam to the screw-top jars, keeping the screw-top rims clean. Immediately screw the lids back on the jars and briefly turn them upside down. Tip: Tastes great even without cinnamon. It will keep easily for several months in a cool, dark place.
