Bananas with chilies and sesame

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 bananas, nice (slightly harder)
  • 4 tbsp sugar
  • ½ tbsp chili (Gochujang, Korean chili paste)
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds, lightly toasted in a dry pan
  • Water

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

Heat the sugar in a pan until a light caramel forms. Deglaze with a little water. Continue stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved. Add the gochujang paste (available from Asian stores) and continue stirring until a smooth sauce forms. Cut the bananas into pieces and add them to the sauce. Serve the warm bananas, cover with the sauce, and sprinkle with the toasted sesame seeds.
