Basil Daiquiri

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 6 cl rum (Havana Club), Anejo 3 Anos
  • 2 cl sugar syrup
  • ½ lime(s)
  • 10 basil leaves, depending on size
  • Ice cubes or crushed ice

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Rest time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Trim the edges of the lime and cut the rest into eighths. Then add all the ingredients to a shaker, mixing glass, or similar and muddle vigorously. Let it steep for 12 to 15 minutes. Shake everything vigorously with ice for about 30 seconds and double-strain into a cocktail glass. I don’t garnish this drink because the color and basil particles provide enough visual appeal. You can also use basil leaves and/or a lime wedge, etc. Tip: Don’t use a muddler with serrated ends (like a wooden one), but rather a smooth and heavy one, such as a plastic one. This is the only way to make a perfect daiquiri, as the lime zest releases so little bitterness.
