Ingredients for 8 servings:

  • 3 small cans of baked beans
  • 1 small can of kidney beans
  • 2 onions
  • 200g bacon
  • 4 tbsp maple syrup
  • 10 tbsp barbecue sauce
  • 3 tbsp spice mix, e.g. Magic Dust

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Ingeniously simple and delicious side dish to a proper beef steak from the grill

First, cut the bacon into small strips and peel the onions into small cubes. Then, fry the bacon in a pan, add the diced onions, and brown them lightly. Next, add the maple syrup and let the bacon and onions caramelize. Add both beans, BBQ sauce, and BBQ rub, and stir well. The BBQ beans are ready once everything is piping hot. Tip: This dish tastes even better reheated the next day than freshly made.
