BBQ potatoes

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 750 g potatoes, waxy
  • 2 large onions
  • 100 g smoked ham cubes
  • Pepper, from the mill
  • 3 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 55 minutes

Wash the potatoes (I used new potatoes) and brush them if necessary. I like to leave the skin on, so I look for good, good potatoes when buying them. After washing, cut the potatoes into slices about 0.5 cm thick. Peel and halve the onions, then slice them as well. Toss the potatoes in a bowl with the olive oil. Add freshly ground pepper and toss again. I deliberately omitted the salt because the ham cubes release salt. Place half of the potatoes in an aluminum tray, top with half of the onions, and then half of the ham cubes. Then spread the remaining ingredients on top, just like the first part. Now tightly seal the filled aluminum tray with aluminum foil. I always use two strips of foil. Place the aluminum tray on the gas grill and cook the potatoes with the lid closed at about 140°C for 35-40 minutes. This goes perfectly with delicious potato cream, aioli, and a mixed salad. And don’t forget a tasty grilled sausage or steak.
