BBQ sauce with cranberry flavor

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 liter of Coke
  • 800 ml ketchup
  • 2 tbsp beetroot
  • 2 tsp smoked salt
  • 1 onion(s)
  • e.g. chili pepper(s) (jalapenos), from the jar
  • e.g. cranberries
  • 2 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tbsp ginger powder
  • ½ tsp cinnamon powder
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp pepper, freshly ground
  • 1 some oil
  • 1 some lemon juice
  • 3 tbsp balsamic vinegar

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 10 minutes

First, finely chop the onion and sauté it in a little oil. Meanwhile, finely chop the jalapenos from the jar (about 10 slices) and the cranberries (about 15-20 slices) and add them. Sauté for about 3 minutes; I then used the liquid from the jalapenos from the jar to deglaze the pan. Now add the cola and reduce by about half. After about 40 minutes on high heat, add the remaining ingredients, bring to a boil for another 10 minutes, and then blend with a hand blender. This recipe yields about 1 liter of BBQ sauce, which will keep for about 2 months in the refrigerator.
