Beans with Caramelized Roasted Onions

The perfect beans with caramelized roasted onions recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 500 g Green beans
  • Salt pepper
  • 4 Onions
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 3 tbsp Sugar
  • 6 Stems Chopped parsley
  1. Clean the beans, cut in half, wash and cook in boiling salted water for approx. 12 minutes.
  2. Drain and drain.
  3. In the meantime, peel the onions and cut into wedges.
  4. Heat the oil and butter in a pan.
  5. Fry the onions in it, turning, until golden brown.
  6. Season with salt and pepper.
  7. Cover with sugar and caramelize until golden brown.
  8. Deglaze with 150 ml of water, bring to the boil and simmer for approx. 8 minutes.
  9. Add the beans to the onions, stir well again and sprinkle with the chopped parsley.
  10. Delicious side dish for pan-fried food.
