Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 4 cups flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 3 tbsp butter, room temperature
- 1 ½ cup(s) sugar
- 2 large eggs
- ½ cup(s) milk
- 1 tsp flavoring (orange extract) or
- 1 small bottle(s) flavoring (orange flavor) or
- Orange peel, untreated, grated
- 1 tsp flavoring (lemon flavor) or 1 bottle
- 1 tsp vanilla flavor or 1 bottle
- Flour for the work surface
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes
simple biscuits, makes about 80 biscuits
I use large mugs for measuring. Preheat the oven to 175°C. Mix the sifted flour and baking powder. Cream the butter and sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs and milk well. Then stir in the flavorings. Gradually add the flour mixture a spoonful at a time. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to a thickness of 0.5 cm. Cut out circles with baking cutters or a glass and place them, spaced apart, on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for about 10 minutes until golden brown. Let cool on a wire rack. If the dough is too sticky, add a little more flour. If it is too crumbly, add a little more milk a spoonful at a time.
