Béchamel sauce with ham and peas

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 15 g butter
  • 1 tbsp, heaped flour
  • 125 ml milk
  • 125 ml vegetable stock
  • 50 g ham, cut into short, narrow strips
  • 80 g peas, frozen
  • nutmeg
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

very good with potato and mashed potato pancakes

Heat the butter in a saucepan until foaming. Immediately remove the pan from the heat and sauté the flour while stirring. Add the milk and vegetable stock, stirring continuously, and simmer for 5 minutes. Add the peas and simmer for another 3 minutes while stirring. Stir in the ham strips and season the sauce with salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
