Beef Carbonades with Beer Sauce

The perfect beef carbonades with beer sauce recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 4 piece Beef rump steak
  • 4 piece Fresh onion
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1 pinch Pepper from the grinder
  • 1 Msp Chili powder
  • 3 piece Garlic cloves
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 400 ml Beer dark
  • 1 piece Bay leaf
  • 6 piece Peppercorns
  • 1 tbsp Ice cold butter

  1. Season the meat with salt, pepper and chili powder. Peel the onions and cut into slices. Peel the garlic.

  1. Heat the butter in a pan and fry the meat for about 8 minutes, then turn it over, add the onion slices and the Knofi. Boil the roasted aromas with the beer, add the bay leaf and peppercorns. Cover the pan and let simmer for about 80 minutes.
  2. Simmer again without the lid for about 10 minutes and reduce the sauce. Stir in flakes of butter until the sauce thickens. Take out the bay leaf, peppercorns and garlic and serve the meat with the delicious sauce. Potatoes or gnocchi also taste good (at least with our Italian restaurant in the village).
