Beef steaks topped with tomatoes and cheese

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 beef steaks
  • 4 tomatoes (or peeled tomatoes from a can)
  • pepper
  • 30 g clarified butter
  • Salt
  • basil, shredded
  • 100 g cheese, grated Gouda

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Cut the stems out of the tomatoes, make a cross-shaped cut, and pour hot water over them. Then peel off the skin, remove the seeds, and cut into quarters. Pepper the beef steaks, sear them on one side in clarified butter, turn them over, and season with salt. Arrange the tomatoes on the steaks, season with basil, pepper, and salt, and sprinkle with the grated Gouda cheese. Add a little water, cover the pan, and cook for 3 minutes. Serve with spinach and French fries.
