Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g beef, cut into small cubes
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 6 large tomatoes, roughly diced, alternatively 1 small can of chopped tomatoes
  • 4 medium-sized potatoes, diced
  • 4 m.-sized carrot(s), thinly sliced
  • 3 small chili peppers, red, fresh, chopped, with or without seeds
  • 4 medium-sized onions, coarsely chopped
  • 1 garlic clove(s), chopped
  • 1 tsp marjoram, or thyme or lovage, to taste
  • salt and pepper

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 4 hours; Total time approx. 4 hours 20 minutes

an American recipe for the crockpot (slow cooker)

This recipe is designed for a 3.5 L crockpot (CP). First, brown the beef briefly in a pan. Then remove the pan from the heat and let it cool slightly. Add it to the CP along with the remaining ingredients. Stir well. Cover and simmer on high for about 4 hours. Season with salt and pepper before serving. Bread or rolls are a good side dish.
