Beef strips in teriyaki sauce

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 600 g beef (beef rump steak)
  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • 3 large carrots
  • 1 zucchini
  • 2 spring onions
  • 6 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp freshly grated ginger
  • 150 ml sauce, teriyaki
  • ½ bunch of coriander or fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Cut the sirloin steak into very thin strips. Peel and finely chop the garlic, peel the carrots, and cut them into thin, long strips along with the zucchini and spring onions. Heat olive oil in a wok until very hot, add the strips of meat, and fry for about 4 minutes. Add the remaining ingredients, bring to a boil, and simmer for about 2 minutes. Sprinkle the coarsely chopped coriander or parsley over the finished dish. Serve with wild or basmati rice. Tip: You can buy the teriyaki sauce at an Asian store or a well-stocked supermarket. The amount of honey varies in this recipe; you can use more to taste.
