Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 500 g beef for braising
- 1 onion(s)
- 2 garlic
- 1 tbsp pepper (Bremer steak pepper)
- salt and pepper
- 250 g mushrooms
- ½ bell pepper(s), red
- 100 ml white wine
- 1 cube of instant beef broth (beef broth)
- n. B. Sauce thickener
- e.g. cream
- Clarified butter for frying
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 2 hours 15 minutes; Total time approx. 2 hours 35 minutes
Cut the meat into thin strips. Brown gradually in clarified butter. Slice the onions, dice the garlic, and add to the meat. Clean, slice, and add the mushrooms. Brown everything well, then add the stock cube (I use organic stock cubes) and a little water. Reduce the heat several times, adding more water every time, adding more after about four batches. Now add the wine. Add the spices. Cover and simmer for about 1 1/2 hours, or longer if needed. The meat should be tender by now. Add more water every now and then. Add the bell pepper strips and simmer for about 5 minutes. Thicken the sauce with a sauce thickener or beurre manié. Season to taste. Add cream. Goes well with all side dishes.
