Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 1 kg minced meat (beef)
- 200 g feta cheese (Patros)
- 200 g grated cheese (from Du darfst)
- 2 tbsp mustard (grill and steak mustard)
- 1 tbsp spice mix for gyros
- 1 tbsp spice mix for cevapcici
- 1 tbsp sweet Hungarian paprika powder
- 1 tbsp sea salt
- 4 tbsp oil (peanut oil)
- 3 eggs
- 500 g potatoes (potato balls, frozen, extra fine)
- Seasoning mix for French fries
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes
Spread the minced meat out in a large, shallow bowl. Sprinkle sweet paprika powder on top. Sprinkle the other spices on top. Add three whole eggs and the grated cheese. Mix everything together well (if the mixture doesn’t seem firm enough, add a little breadcrumbs to help it along). Cut the feta cheese into strips. Spread the minced meat dough out into flat schnitzels on a floured board. Place the feta cheese in the center and fold over. Very important: Seal the edges of the minced meat dough tightly so the cheese doesn’t leak out during frying. These parcels are then fried in hot peanut oil for about 4-5 minutes on each side over medium heat until evenly golden brown. Briefly fry the potato balls in the deep fryer until golden brown and season with potato salt. Arrange on plates and serve.
