Ingredients for 6 servings:
- 360 g flour (wholemeal flour)
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- tsp baking soda
- 2 tbsp honey
- 375 ml beer
- Butter, melted
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes
Preheat oven to 190°C. Grease a 10 cm x 20 cm cake pan. In a bowl, combine the dry ingredients. Add the honey. Pour in the beer and stir. Don’t overmix; the batter should still have lumps. Pour into the pan. Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until the crust is light brown. Remove from the oven and increase the temperature to 220°C. Place the loaf on a baking sheet and brush the top and sides with melted butter. Bake for 5-10 minutes.
