- 150 ml ketchup
- 8 tbsp cucumber water
- 2 tbsp paprika powder

- 1 tbsp, heaped garlic, chopped, or garlic powder

- 1 tsp pepper
- 3 dashes of Tabasco
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 50 minutes
For the sauce, mix all ingredients well. Add chili powder and Tabasco depending on the desired spiciness. The sauce can be prepared ahead of time to allow it to infuse. Preheat the oven to 180°C (top/bottom heat) (or according to the instructions on the fries package). Place the fries in the oven. Slice the onion into thin rings for garnish. Pound the schnitzel and season with salt, pepper, and paprika. About 15 minutes before the fries are ready, fry the meat on both sides in a pan. In the meantime, place the toast in the toaster and arrange two toasts on each plate. Then place the meat on top. Pour 4-5 tablespoons of the devil’s toast sauce over the meat and garnish with onion rings. Place the fries on the plates and serve with the remaining sauce. If you like, you can also prepare a small salad as a side dish. Devil’s toast is a regional dish from Berchtesgaden. Here is my version of it.
