Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 200 g marzipan for baking
  • 80 g powdered sugar
  • 80 g almonds, ground
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 tbsp orange liqueur
  • 40 almonds, halved, peeled
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 4 tbsp milk

Instructions

Working time approx. 35 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

Christmas cookies

Roughly chop the marzipan and sift the powdered sugar. Knead with the ground almonds, flour, egg white, and liqueur. Form into small balls and place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Press three almond halves onto each Bethmännchen. Whisk the egg yolk with milk and brush over the Bethmännchen. Bake in a preheated oven at 175°C (top/bottom heat) (gas mark 2) for about 15 minutes.
