Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g minced beef
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 1 small onion(s), grated
  • 1 garlic clove(s), finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp parsley, chopped
  • 1 tbsp oregano, chopped
  • Salt and pepper, black
  • 1 shot of milk
  • 1 shot of ouzo
  • 300 g feta cheese
  • Olive oil for frying

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Thoroughly knead the minced meat with the egg, onions, garlic, parsley, oregano, milk, and ouzo, and season with salt and pepper. Divide the meat dough into eight equal portions and form into flat patties. Sprinkle four of the patties with the crumbled feta. Cover each with a meat patty and press down firmly. Heat the olive oil in a pan and fry the bifteki evenly on both sides. Serve with fresh salad, rice, and a fine Metaxa sauce.
