Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 500 g minced meat, mixed
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 1 small roll, soaked and well squeezed
  • 1 onion(s), finely chopped
  • 1 clove(s) garlic, very finely chopped
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper, freshly ground
  • 1 pinch of allspice powder
  • 1 pinch of cumin powder
  • 1 tsp, heaped oregano
  • 1 tsp, heaped thyme
  • 1 tsp tomato paste
  • Olive oil for frying

Instructions

Working time approx. 35 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

Soak 12 wooden skewers in cold water for about 1 hour. Carefully knead the minced meat, tomato paste, bread rolls, egg, onion, garlic, and spices in a bowl. Form the meat into small, oblong loaves around the skewers. Brown the skewers in hot oil for about 4 minutes on all sides, place them on a baking sheet, and finish cooking in the oven at about 150°C fan/convection oven for 10 minutes. Arrange on a platter, garnished with lemon slices, and enjoy with Greek pasta salad.
