- 50 ml mineral water
- 100 g breadcrumbs
- 3 tbsp, heaped onion granules
- 2 tbsp mustard, medium hot
- 1 m.-sized garlic bulb(s)
- e.g. salt and pepper
- n. B. Paprika powder, sweet
- e.g. chili flakes
- 1 large onion(s)
- some breadcrumbs for rolling
- Clarified butter for frying
Instructions
Working time approx. 10 minutes; Rest time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes
Carefully knead the ingredients, except for the onion, together and season the mince with the four spices. The mixture now needs about 15 minutes to swell. The spices also need to develop; add more seasoning if necessary. Form the dough into dumplings of about 100g and roll them generously in the breadcrumbs. Melt the clarified butter in a large pan. Halve the onion and add it to the pan to give the cooking fat a strong aroma. Fry the dumplings over medium heat until golden brown. Once browned and slightly crispy, remove them and briefly place them on a paper towel to dab off any excess fat. They can be served hot or cold, but can also be eaten with vegetables and potatoes.
