Big Mac Salad

Spread the love

Ingredients for 8 servings:

  • 500 g minced beef
  • 6 hamburger buns
  • 1 iceberg lettuce
  • 1 pack of Chester cheese (slices)
  • 160 g mayonnaise
  • 30 g ketchup
  • 20 g mustard
  • 10 ml cucumber water
  • 100 g gherkins
  • 1 pinch(s) of sugar
  • 1 dashes lemon juice
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 1 hour; Rest time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes

For the very popular Big Mac salad, first brown the ground beef in a pan with a little oil, season with salt and pepper. Let the beef cool slightly, but it can still be a little warm when layering the salad. Bake the hamburger buns in the oven for about 5 minutes at 180°C (a toaster oven also works). If possible, briefly turn on the broiler. Then let it cool. For the dressing, chop the cucumbers or chop them in a food processor. Then mix with mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, pickle water, a pinch of sugar, and lemon juice to make the dressing and let it marinate in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes. In the meantime, cut the iceberg lettuce into strips. Halve the hamburger buns and cut into 2 cm x 2 cm pieces. Now first place about two hamburger buns (cut into pieces) in the salad bowl. Add a layer of iceberg lettuce. Spread about 4-5 tablespoons of the dressing on the iceberg lettuce. Next comes a layer of ground meat and a layer of cheese (if the ground meat is still a bit warm, the cheese will melt a little right away). After the first layer, add more bread cubes, iceberg lettuce, dressing, meat, and cheese. Finally, top the salad with the remaining bread cubes, preferably with the sesame seeds facing up.
