Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g sausage (Sucuk, Turkish garlic sausage)
  • 1 flatbread(s)
  • 500 g natural yogurt
  • 3 tomatoes
  • 3 onions, red
  • 1 cucumber(s)
  • 1 head of lettuce of your choice (e.g. iceberg lettuce)
  • 1 clove(s) garlic
  • salt and pepper
  • lemon juice

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Turkish garlic sausage in flatbread

Wash or peel the tomatoes, onions, and cucumber and slice them thinly. Trim and strip the lettuce. Whisk the yogurt until creamy and add the garlic. Season with salt, pepper, and lemon juice. Place all ingredients in bowls and serve. Peel the sausage and slice diagonally into thin slices, then fry in a pan or on the grill until crispy. Quarter the flatbread and toast according to the package instructions, either in the oven or on the grill. Place the fried sausage in the flatbread, and now everyone can assemble their own “doner” with the other ingredients as desired. Tip: The ingredients can be changed or expanded according to taste—for example, with coleslaw, pepperoni, or feta cheese.
