Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 40 g yeast
  • 550 g flour, wheat flour
  • ½ jar milk, warmed
  • 1 egg(s), beaten
  • 60 g butter, warm, melted
  • 6 tbsp water
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 egg(s), for brushing
  • ¾ tsp salt
  • some fat, for spreading
  • poppy
  • sesame
  • Cheese, grated
  • Paprika powder, hot

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Mix the yeast with the sugar. Then stir in the warmed milk and a few tablespoons of flour and let the resulting mixture rise slightly. Put the remaining flour into a second bowl, add the salt, and make a well in the center. Pour the yeast-sugar-milk-flour mixture into the well. Mix in the beaten egg, the melted, warm butter, and the water and knead everything for about 5 minutes until it forms a light dough. If the dough is still too loose, add a little more flour. Form a ball, place it on a cloth, and cover with another cloth. Let the dough rise until it has doubled in size. Knead the dough again, then form rolls. Place the formed rolls on baking paper or a greased baking sheet, leaving some space between them, and spread a thin layer of butter on top. Let the rolls continue to rise on the sheet for about 30 minutes. Then brush the surface with the egg. Variation: Sprinkle with poppy seeds, sesame seeds, and grated cheese, if desired. Hot paprika seasoning goes very well with the grated cheese. Bake in the oven at 200°C until the rolls have turned a golden yellow-brown color. Enjoy!
