Bitter almond cookie cutters

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 200 g flour
  • 100 g butter or margarine
  • 75 g sugar
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 egg(s)
  • ½ pack of pudding powder (vanilla flavor)
  • 100 g ground almonds
  • 1 ½ ml bitter almond flavoring
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • some powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes

Mix all dry ingredients (flour, sugar, vanilla sugar, salt, pudding powder, almonds, baking powder). Now add the egg and butter and mix with a hand mixer (dough hook), gradually adding the bitter almond flavoring. Once the dough has crumbled, continue kneading with your hands until smooth and even. Wrap the dough in cling film and refrigerate for 30 minutes. After resting, simply roll it out and cut out any shapes you like. Bake for 10-12 minutes on the middle rack at 350°F (180°C). Sprinkle with powdered sugar while still warm.
