  • 250 g sugar
  • 350 g flour
  • 1 packet of baking powder

  • 1 ½ tbsp cocoa powder
  • possibly milk
  • possibly lemon juice

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 55 minutes

quick sheet cake with grated apples

Wash the apples, quarter them, core them, and coarsely grate them with the skin on. I prefer to use the Tupperware Quick Chef for grating. If you like, add lemon juice to prevent them from browning. Cream the butter until light and fluffy, then gradually add the sugar and then the eggs. Mix the flour with the baking powder and stir in. Now add the grated apples and spread half of the batter on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Add the cocoa powder to the other half. If the batter is getting too dry, add a little milk. Pour the dark batter onto the light batter. If you want to make it easier, cut both batters into stripes to form zebra stripes on the baking sheet. Finally, sprinkle the walnuts on top. Bake in the oven at 170°C (convection oven) for about 25 minutes. Do the skewer test! Stored apples are particularly good for this cake. The baking time may vary slightly depending on their ripeness. If they are already very crumbly, use a little less. The finished cake can be dusted with powdered sugar or covered with lemon or chocolate icing.
